autumn

Of all the seasons

Spring might be where we awaken

but

Autumn is where we release

To be a Taoist is to embrace the yin and yang of spring and autumn fully.

Foot Prints

To be a Taoist is

to know we have no place in history

only now

Blog entries, writings, footprints of what we do... Don't matter

While others might cross behind. (before tides of time wash them away), It diminishes us to measure ourselves to the past which fades away...

So when busy, when in the now so fully that you are living 10 nows at once... Don't worry about footprints, instead dance and let others find the words afterward that matter.

In such a dance: to a Dancer... It's wordless and instead just flows to being perfectly in the now.

I am in such a "now" now I won't be writing much until "now" quiets down a little and we move into the new temple at the end of December.

The Canvas of the Soul

To be an artist

The canvas of art is the very soul

emotions: our smile, brushes to paint out a life

which is ours to create

fully

Places

Haven't been here much of late since so much is spinning and swirling around.

Teaching retreats and Taoist counseling is a full time endeavor that is for sure. My days start at 6 am and often wander into 9:30 pm as it all sorts out and people come and go. But now add in a few other side projects on top of that and it just goes everywhere.

I have started to build a virtual classroom to begin bringing together students in a safe spot which they can share across the world, I have also started building a few other sites to help people connect locally where I live. Finally I have also starting finally to begin writing a new book about how to learn Taoism. While it feels a bit much, it isn't since I am doing this to help the flow of what I teaching work better. So it's all good.

Taken all together it means the next 6 months will be a bit of a blur as it comes together, No plans other than just letting it flow together and giving it energy as it requires to come together.

Things will be a bit hectic until after we finalize the home sale and shift the temple across to a permanent location rather than hosting the wandering temple we have been holding space for over the past few years.

More details later

Love & peace to all!

Non Action in Modern Culture.

The other day I wrote:

No action will place a person squarely in the flock.

In Taoism we have the concept of : Wu Wei

Wu-wei is often translated simply as: action without action

Westerners get confused about this concept. For example it's often treated to mean: literally do nothing since it seems as if many times a Taoist seemingly will do nothing .

A Taoist is both always acting and not acting... it's a dance between both of those extremes. When you see a Taoist doing nothing, they are still being very active in being aware, in extending out their senses to be a part of the larger universe. This is done so minimal action is required for our efforts. Not becuase we are lazy or not acting, but merely becuase it's our way. It also happens to be incredibly efficient.

It must be stressed in Western Culture, every person acts each day, in how they buy into the culture, in how they support themselves and live. If you think you might not be part of the flock, Then I must ask if you are really fully examining all of your actions. Just how you buy food and what products you purchase or work to get money will still support the larger social system.

Our culture is designed to funnel the average set of actions, into the primary trends of the culture. In other words if you do nothing other than act as everyone else... your actions and results are funneled into powering the larger system into continuing as is. It's used directly to support the people controlling you through media, fashion and politics.

As a result non action often implies action in how you support yourself and live. Those most basic of choices literally define how you will support society and how you will be treated by the society.

Fixing the Country

I see the statement: where people ask for help to fix our country....

Well a quick answer to the call for help...

Is to know a call for help... is to call out to yourself first and foremost!

I know from experience not to run away, I help people on the street, Turned my home into a temple, help people reconnect to their heart. Have helped people turn around in the worse of times...

We can make a difference I know this since I do it every day.

No difference will happen upon waiting for someone else.. since someone "else" will be the current jokers in power. Who have vested interest to keep it as is.

To "want" the world to be better, means not to envision the problems,

but

to enact your personal solutions one step at a time... Just act to your heart and help those near you.

Do that, and you start fixing any system that is broken.

Talking Solutions, Speaking up etc... while nice... doesn't mean anything unless you follow it by the backing of your heart and then following with feet and hands to reach out and lift up. To make something real.

It's that simple, but only if people act.

otherwise just watching, means just watching it televised as "unreal" ...

The trouble is ... even with it being as bad as it is.. People still fear losing what they have more than making a difference.... The only problem is "what you have" is in process of being sold off...

So it goes.

The price of living in a flock...

The flock gets fleeced every time. The system is rigged against the flock.
It's a personal choice. No action will just place a person squarely in the flock.
