Passings and Death

Three people we know passed away this week. I started to write this poem today as my thoughts came out to pay respect.

Death's Gate

No words cover the experience.
No time undoes the feeling.
In love having fullness.
Only to be left releasing:
A shovel, a handful of dirt and the hole left behind.

In love, in sharing: becoming angels.
Living itself: is the wing beat of being an angel.
Even when forced to face death
Coming down to find the ground.

No words fulfill this hole.
Not enough dirt hide the remains,
within the mind, memory and visions
which as if alive
continue to play out.

In peace
I wish you peace
to say in oneness
Death is a reflection
Looking back from the depths
towards the light
where we all are one.

This is truth
The reason no words work
in that Death is the merging,
Becoming alight
with the Tao.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your friends. A haiku for you:

Dandelion seeds rise;
Lifted on warm air to fly,
part, fall, become new.

That is a great Haiku!

A strange thing about Taoist thought - at least for me -

Time doesn't exist and all connections , all people are always in my heart, no one truly leaves.

Once you let go of ego... you never are alone, never have loss, since at that point a person connects back to the larger whole.

I remember when my father died and how even now I can still go back and be with him or talk with him even now...It's a strange truth and consequence that comes out of Taoist practice.

As result I try to help others find peace in a similar manner.

Your Tao musings have become part of my regular reading for a couple of weeks now. I'm very new to the idea of Taoism but it resonates very strongly with thoughts/feelings/wonderings that have been with me for a long, long time.
I'm waiting for your book to arrive in the mail and have a feeling it will become a well-thumbed friend!

Thanks Angie!

I hope you enjoy the book. It's really not written to be mainstream, instead it just follows the heart and life.

I always enjoy feedback also!

The whole idea is just helping people find personal harmony.

Coming to grips with Taoism within western culture can be a confusing path to walk, so it's nice to be able to help others.

I look forward to chatting :) I am always around if you have questions.
