I just wrote and published an article about Taoism and longevity.

This is the first draft of the article. Please free open to comment, spot errors, and generally add your feedback.

Fantastic article!

For me the hardest thing about living in such a way has been the food issue. When you are poor sometimes you kind of have to just eat what comes to you and there's not much time or no way to know where it came from or whether it's composition is truly healthy. I outlined some of my thoughts on this this morning, over here (a note on food quality).

Very true

one way to address the issue is to eat simply.

The other issue is by taking in what is given to you , and giving thanks, does show respect to not let the food go to waste. To show respect of thanks to those who share the food with you also encourages sharing and working together which promotes long healthy life. These are positive aspects to the situation you describe and puts positive balance back into the equation towards being healthy.

:) I will bebop your new site later to say hi
